Creating and Editing Pages

How To Create a New Page

The easiest way to (currently) create a new CSI Wiki page is to add the name of the page to the end of the URL in the address bar at the top of your browser window. For example, if you wanted to create a new page dedicated to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon fan clubs, you would add that after the slash in the root level URL.

https://csi.wiki/index.php/Crouching_Tiger_Hidden_Dragon

IF YOU WILL BE PUTTING SPACES BETWEEN WORDS IN YOUR NEW PAGE NAME, PLEASE ADD UNDERSCORES BETWEEN THE WORDS WHERE THE SPACES WOULD BE, LIKE THIS:

NEW_PAGE_NAME

After entering the page name at the end of the URL, hit the "Enter" key and you will be directed to a new page. Click the "Create" link on the righthand side of the header. This will open the Visual Editor, allowing you to add and edit content within this window.

BE SURE TO CLICK THE "SAVE PAGE" BUTTON ON THE LOWER LEFTHAND SIDE OF THE WINDOW!!!

If you fail to save this new page, it will not be created.

How To Link a Page

If you have created a page and need to link other pages to it, the easiest way to achieve this is to copy the URL for the destination page

https://csi.wiki/index.php/Crouching_Tiger_Hidden_Dragon

Starting from the previous example, click the address bar at the top of your browser. If the entire URL is NOT highlighted, simply press the "Ctrl" and "A" buttons simultaneously and the entire URL should become highlighted.

Navigate to the page that you want to link FROM. Click "edit" for the section that you wish to add the link. The Visual Editor should open up and you should see the source text. Highlight the word(s) that you want to be linked and click the chain link icon at the top of the Visual Editor (3rd button from the top left side).

An "Insert link" window should pop-up. Highlight the text in the box under "Target page or URL:" and paste the DESTINATION link in that box. You may alternatively press the "Ctrl" and "A" keys, followed by the "Ctrl" and "V" keys to paste the DESTINATION URL into the "Target page or URL:" text window. Now click "Insert link"

You should now see something like this:

[https://csi.wiki/index.php/DESTINATION_PAGE Link Text in the Page]

Finally, save your changes by clicking the blue "Save changes" button in the lower left and check that your link works by clicking it in the regular Wiki view.
